The five-membered South Korean girl group ILLIT — consisting of Yunha, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, and Iroha — is best known for being all about the authentic feelings and experiences of teenage girls. Many of the band’s lyrics tell stories about crushes and first loves, with their youthful concept setting the group apart from others. Making their debut in March of 2024, ILLIT quickly gained popularity with the release of their track, “Magnetic.” Following their debut, the group gained a strong fanbase that has been officially named “GLLIT,” which is a play on the word glitter, symbolizing that the group’s fanbase makes them shine brightly like glitter. ILLIT's youthful concept mixed with Power’s confident personality seamlessly blend to make Powers’ a perfect addition to the existing track.

Coming off their third mini-album bomb, “Jellyous” takes the listener through the familiar experience of being into someone, and the whirlwind of feelings that accompany that crush. The track is a perfect blend of playful and sweet with a relatable story.

“Talking stages are not for me / Like come here, give it up / I need you to myself, yeah / Got me spying on you / Spying on you, won’t see me / I’d be lying saying, you’re not on my mind,”

Powers sings in the second verse. This verse further promotes the story of the track, showing Powers wanting the crush all to herself and not wanting to see them with another girl.

With ILLIT members Moka and Yunah on the final chorus, the girls’ vocals blend beautifully to end the track on high note. It details how the girls want their crushes all to themselves, and how they are essentially “jealous” of the idea of not being with them. The track wonderfully details the playfulness of having a crush on someone and how the infatuation makes them feel. The lyrics combined with the electronic beats and melody delightfully communicates ILLIT’s group concept, and makes this reimagined track another great song from both artists.
