SYDNEY SPRAGUE RELEASES FRANTIC NEW SINGLE AND MUSIC VIDEO

In an unhinged lyrical showcase, Sydney Sprague releases “As Scared As Can Be” in conjunction with a new music video. Featuring a bit of acoustic guitar and an intense vocal performance from Sprague, this song is an immediate quintessential song in her discography.

Her 2020 debut album, maybe i’ll see you at the end of the world, holds bangers like “steve” and “object permanence” which praised her honesty, wit and dynamic lyrical storytelling. All alongside her incredible voice, Sprague is on the way to another fantastic year in the books. Born in Arizona, Sprague is dead-set on her mission in music, constantly writing and working on her craft. This raw emotion she has inside her builds out into her musical world, in her newest release. “As Scared As Can Be” touches on her indie-pop roots with her Phoenix upbringing influencing the imagery in the music video. When she grew up living in one of the most hot and dry places in the United States, the sweat became part of her daily life.

“I taste salt pretty sure you that you hate me / I’m so caught up and can’t fall asleep”

Like when the heat gets to her, and her band in the music video, the taste of salt, sweat or anxiety represents the fear of losing someone. Still, Sprague sings of how she feels small and “as scared as can be” in her chronic mental overthinking matched with sick guitar riffs.

This irresistible new single was released alongside “Fair World” earlier this March. Another track adding to her world building and vulnerable lyrics. “Fair World” paints the picture of a road trip, presumably from her years on the road; touring.

Sprague has spent the past five years opening for acts such as Jimmy Eat World, Dashboard Confessional and The Front Bottoms. She is taking her act on the road again starting this Fall, starting off a month-long run across the US, get tickets to a show near you here!
