Graphic by Paige Firsten @paigetriesart
Undeniably, hyperpop music has taken the modern music scene over by storm. The resurgence of high bpms, indie sleaze inspired themes, and EDM-adjacent sounds has created an atmosphere for a more experimental side of pop music, fusing together alternative elements into music you can dance to. With the up-and-coming nature of the genre, more artists are leaning into the style, expanding the genre one song at a time with their own unique twists.
Here are seven new releases in the genre; whether you’re dipping your toes into electronic experimental pop music, or are looking for artists to add to your current hyperpop rotation, there is an artist (or 7) here for everyone.
Tommy Fleece: VS the machine
After capturing his audience through audio stars and audio stars 2, Tommy Fleece is back with VS the machine, an album taking inspiration from the electronic elements that made his earlier albums successful. The deep electroclash sound creates a bold, spirited atmosphere, and Fleece’s lyricism is frequently as tongue in cheek as it is catchy. For fans of ericdoa and Jane Remover, Fleece’s music will resonate deeply with your ears and your heart.Keep up with Tommy Fleece:

INJI: SUPERLAME
Leaning into EDM influences and her own signature sassy, outspoken brand, INJI’s SUPERLAME is a complex album full of fun, personal experiences, and cultural appreciation. The Turkish singer-songwriter has been making her mark on music since 2022, and she has carved out a niche in integrating catchy lyricism with upbeat tunes and electronic sounds — and each song on SUPERLAME is reflective of this unique sound. In every sense of the phrase, the album undoubtedly matches the proclamation in INJI’s Spotify bio, being “music you can scream to.”
For anyone nostalgic for scenecore aesthetics and maximalist production, you will be happy to know that Intentions is bringing glitchpop back. After teasing the album with “U NOT ME,” a song composed of classic elements of hyperpop and digicore music, MR. BIG BAG follows suit with 21 aurally stunning songs. Intentions’ vocals are pitched beautifully and heavily layered with synths and heavy bass drops, tied together by the occasional spoken interlude. With collaborations on the album including Glitch Gum, stecker, han.irl, savesomeone, flatroom !!, Olivia Knox and xiloh, MR. BIG BAG incorporates elements of multiple subgenres, making this the perfect album for anyone looking to immerse themselves into glitchcore electronic sounds.

Tiffany Day is no stranger to the music scene; she’s been releasing music since 2018, and has recently shifted her acoustic sound to classic hyperpop, integrating elements of previous albums including heartfelt lyricism and airy vocals into a fast paced, exciting spin. In “AMERICAN GIRL,” Tiffany Day confronts the difficulties of fitting in, and the chaotic energy in the sound matches the complexity of the feelings she sings about. aldn: Strung Out Symphony
After the success of “icantbelieveiletyougetaway” and opening sets with Wisp, aldn has returned with a comprehensive hyperpop album, combining striking drum beats with pulsing basses and tasteful distortion. While most of the songs are in this aldn signature sound, the album also contains slower, ballad adjacent tracks; notably, “julie” is a stunning track, stripped back so the listener can hear the yearning in aldn’s voice, while still containing background music that remains authentic to his sound. Similarly, “mirror” has a slower dream-like, hazy atmosphere to it, still being layered over drums and electronic bursts of sound. Strung Out Symphony is a well rounded album, serving as a unique contribution to the hyperpop universe.
