GUINEVERE REDEFINING THE INDIE LANDSCAPE WITH NEW SINGLE "LISA"

Utah-based indie-alternative artist GUINEVERE’s refreshing new single “Lisa” off her forthcoming debut EP fuses bold basslines, hazy lyrics, and crisp vocals that make this emerging artist one to watch. A black, female artist, GUINEVERE brings a fresh, much-needed voice and representation to the indie and alternative landscape.

Listening to GUINEVERE’s first two singles leaves listeners wanting more. Plans for the release of her debut EP include dropping a new single every month throughout the year and into early 2026. Building anticipation for each upcoming drop, “Lisa” is a glimpse into her evolving sound.

The first single, “Into” from her upcoming EP, provides a catchy pop sound, with her most recent “Lisa” following a similar upbeat feel built on the grunge and grit of the bass. A faded piano ebbs and flows through the track, further highlighting her delicate and ethereal vocals leading up to the chorus. Harmonies are created through distorted backing vocals that feel immersive through the chorus:

“Take the bait, she’s there waitin’, you’re overcompensating and I can’t stand the measures you’ve taken / LISA’s never been shaken.”

Drawing inspiration from The Strokes, Hers, and Frank Ocean, GUINEVERE transforms the nostalgia of early-2000s indie sounds into a refreshing new track. “Lisa” features bass lines that fade from the foreground to the backing tracks, creating a hypnotic groove that guides an easy-going feeling.

Her ability to produce textured balances illustrates her capacity to create a structured and satisfying layered production. She is shaping her own sound in the alternative and indie space.

Listen to GUINEVERE’s sophomore single, “Lisa,” and her first single, “Into,” for a satisfying and refreshing alternative sound.
