The Maryland native-turned-Nashville artist delivers a synth-pop glow that condenses the magic and vulnerability of a new, fragile love. Co-written with Spencer Jordan (Knox, Shaboozey) and Brett Truitt (Alex Warren, Wild Rivers), and produced by Ian Walsh and Truitt, the production unfolds as a slow-motion memory. BIZZY is immersing her music and production around the live energy of supporting indie-pop artist Chinouriri on her North American tour.
The track begins with the delicate plucking of an electric guitar, layered over a trap-tempo beat, setting the pulse of an excited heartbeat. Echoing vocals swirl throughout, creating a sense of depth and distance layered through a sparkling production. Then, a buildup collides with a dramatic halt, where the tension reflects the uncertainty that surrounds it.
The intensity continues to build to an emotional high, before pulling back again into a soft piano and isolated vocals, indicating the feelings of developing a new and deep connection with someone. It’s the ending of a private and poetic confession. Intimate and gentle lyrics deliver a beaming, crashing chorus, “I play it all in my head / words we haven’t said yet / think how good this could get,” zoning in on the daydreams that long to become a reality.
